Bitcoin price today july 5 increased sharply, leading to the increase in the price of many other currencies. Meta has just announced the closure of the Novi digital wallet project after months of testing.

The total value of the cryptocurrency market was recorded at 6:10 am at 907.72 billion USD, up 33.22 billion USD compared to 24 hours ago.

The 24-hour trading volume on the market currently stands at $51.67 billion, 31.59% higher than on July 4.

Meta plans to close Novi wallet after 10 months of testing

Meta’s first foray into the digital currency world is expected to end in September when they will close the Novi wallet test project.

Novi’s website has officially informed users that testing the platform will be canceled on September 1. This will conclude an 8-month pilot project on US and Guatemalan users participating in the testing of the digital currency payment platform.

Users are instructed to withdraw the remaining money on the Novi wallet linked to the bank account. Users in Guatemala can withdraw cash at several points in Guatemala City.

Novi users are also encouraged to download their account information prior to the closing date, including activity and transactions on the platform. From September 1, users will not be able to log into this account, and the platform will stop accepting deposits from July 21.

CoinShares acquires French crypto investment fund Napoleon AM

Europe’s major cryptocurrency investment fund CoinShares has successfully closed a deal to acquire French financial technology company Napoleon Group despite the sharp decline in the market.

CoinShares announced on July 4 that it has acquired the Napoleon Investment Fund, the digital currency management arm of the Napoleon Group.

CoinShares previously entered into a buy and sell agreement to acquire the entire issued share capital of Napoleon Crypto SAS for EUR 13.9 million ($14.5 million) in November 2021.

The deal came when the French Finance Authority Autorité des Marchés Financiers authorized the acquisition of Napoleon AM on June 28.
